June is National Safety Month. It’s a time to think about how to stay safe at work. In Las Vegas, that matters quite a bit because this city is always under construction. New hotels, new tunnels, new homes and other projects. And with all this construction, safety needs to be at the forefront.
Workers face real dangers on any given jobsite. Falls, getting shocked by live wires, heavy machinery mishaps and more. Unfortunately, these are not rare accidents. They do happen, and when they do, they can change lives.
Ways to prevent workplace injuries:
- Wearing the right gear
- Putting safety processing in place
- Using proper signs and barriers
- Taking breaks in the shade
- Drinking water when it’s hot.
Las Vegas heat is no joke. In June, temperatures often reach over 100 degrees. Heatstroke and dehydration are big risks. Crews need water, shade, and time to cool down.
Construction doesn’t stop at night either. Night work needs good lighting, clear rules, and alert teams. Safety doesn’t punch out when the sun goes down.

National Safety Month is a good time to double-check everything related to job site safety to avoid any workplace injuries. Are workers trained? Are safety meetings happening? Are the right tools being used?
Las Vegas grows because workers show up every day. They build the buildings and pave the roads. Their safety should always come first.
